In 2007, George N. Longworth retired from law enforcement and joined with Steven P. Grant to form Westchester personal injury law firm Grant & Longworth, LLP. He represented a wide variety of personal injury clients clients including public safety personnel injured during the atrocities of September 11, 2001.

In January 2010, Longworth accepted the call to public service once again, when he was appointed as commissioner of the Westchester County Police Department by County Executive Robert P. Astorino. He led the Westchester County Police in to an era of providing expanded services to local municipalities, including the provision of contracted municipal policing and unified in-service training.

In January 2018, Longworth returned to the firm after retiring from public service for the final time.  He successfully represents a broad range of clients in all aspects of personal injury and criminal defense law. Additionally, his representation includes the development and implementation of litigation, discovery, settlement and trial strategies.
